...get a favorite notification, and your little heart goes "Yay! Someone likes my work!", and then you realize they're spam faving to jack up their pageviews... and all they want to do is get you to go to some whatever website and click on some stuff and 'help them out', because they're doing you such a big favor by not actually being interested in your artwork and just doing it to grap your attention to make you do something for them.

Yeah, that's what really makes me smile. I love being spam-faved. It makes me ooze with delight.

Ugh.

Hey DeviantART staff,

I think it's cool and all that you're cracking down on the spammers and have this new automated system that detects spamming behavior so your staff doesn't have to do it... But, uh, I'm not spamming. I'm thanking people for taking the time to favorite and view my artwork, and there's a good amount of messages that have been building up and I was just catching up.

I know there's not a lot that can be done, since I was using the same phrase over and over again, which was basically "Thanks for the fave!", but it has gotten to the point where I now can't do any variation that even uses the work "thank", and now I'm afraid that if I do try again too soon, I'll suddenly be "forbidden". That's pretty ominous and would really be awful. Do I get a warning? If not, I should. The help post is pretty vague about that. That's kind of important stuff for someone who frequently uses your site. But I guess, as the help desk forum says, I'll "be patient and take a walk outside". That just sounds a little rude... maybe it's just me.

Anyways, just wanted to throw a little something out in the universe for you.
